Everyone is talking about “CHANGE” in this critical election year. The most important change America needs is PEACE – to turn our country away from war and become a nation of peace.

You can help bring the message of PEACE to the 2008 elections, by showing the public what a new Congressional majority for peace could look like – WITH A NATIONAL COALITION OF PEACE CANDIDATES.

Cindy Sheehan, America's Peace Mom, is running for U.S. Congress against the current Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi.

At the same time, hundreds of Congressional candidates across America include peace in their platforms. They come from various political affiliations, and some have none. But ONE THING THEY ALL HAVE IN COMMON IS PEACE.

Our campaign will contact these candidates and invite them to sign on to the idea that endorsing Cindy Sheehan to become the new Speaker of the House would be a POWERFUL SYMBOL OF A NEW MANDATE FOR PEACE.

We know that many candidates who would like to join this campaign cannot, for political reasons. But many more candidates – particularly those outside the two major parties – can and will.

The VISION OF THESE CANDIDATES STANDING TOGETHER WILL SHOW THE AMERICAN PEOPLE THAT THE POSSIBILITY of a new Congressional majority for peace, however unlikely it may seem, is real.

This is not a new political party. It is a citizen’s campaign to offer the vision of a new Congress that can restore “The People’s Branch,” rein in presidential abuse, and legislate an agenda for PEACE.

No matter who occupies the White House in coming years, “We the People” will always need a STRONG CONGRESS TO HOLD EXECUTIVE POWER IN CHECK and commit the nation to peace.

We will lift the campaigns of hundreds of Congressional PEACE candidates around the country into a unified voice for change, while organizing grassroots peace activists as an enduring force in each district.

Cindy is no ordinary candidate. She is known throughout the country and the world for her courage and conviction, and has united the entire peace community to stand with her in the past.
